‘The Bridge’ - 10 June 2022

A message from Sandra

The cold and wild weather may have arrived, but the warmth of friendship and fellowship at Levin Uniting, we pray, will mitigate its impact.

The Easter season has now concluded for another year with our Pentecost commemorations last week. But our worship life continues to focus on some important themes. This Sunday we celebrate the Trinity, reflecting on the mystery of God who is three yet one. The following weekend we turn our attention to Matariki, and what it might mean for us who worship in a nation with a bicultural heritage. And that is followed by Disability Sunday, reminding us that there is nothing that hinders our ability to worship our Lord God Almighty.

Yours in Christ,
Sandra Williams

Worship this Sunday, 10am

Kororia ki te Matua, ki te Tamaiti, ki te Wairua Tapu;
Glory to God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
What do we mean when we say we worship one God yet we believe God comes to us as three distinct entities? This is the mystery we struggle with as we gather for worship this Trinity Sunday. If you would like to come prepared, the readings are Romans 5:1-5 and John 16:12-15.

Movie Fundraiser - Father Stu

Forty-eight people showed up to watch ‘Father Stu’ at Focal Point. It was a great turnout in support of our Seasons for Growth programme. The screen lit up at 6pm and most of us were home by 8.30. The movie did not disappoint with Mark Wahlberg as the leading star and Mel Gibson who played his father. There were some poignant moments, tragedy, emotional and humorous which kept us captivated.

Thank you to everyone who supported us.

Blessings, Roxy

Scarfarama, Costume Jewellery & Garage Sale

On Friday 24 June, 9.30am - 12pm. We are holding a scarf and costume jewellery sale with nothing over $5, and alongside we will also have a garage sale, both raising money for our kitchen upgrade. We would love you to join us.

Mission Pig

Last year you donated via the Mission Pig to Levin Hope Ketu. Unfortunately under COVID19 restrictions this is still on hold, but we did gather $84.20 which was passed onto them. We received this note on a card last week:

Wow! What a wonderful gift you gave us here at Hope Levin. You gave $84.20 and we were so blessed with your kindness. Our church recently ran our Winter Wrap Programme providing warm things for free and your giving helped us give to others. Thank you very much. You church family at Hope Levin.
