‘The Bridge’ - 1 July 2022

A message from Sandra

Kia ora te whanau,

On the wall of our lounge we have a canvas of family photo's with a caption by the actor Michael J. Fox: Family isn't an important thing, it is everything." Family and relationships are the foundation on which God has placed the order of creation. Recently our lay leaders Eileen and Allen and our intern Brett have blessed me with time off for refreshment and to spend time with family and I want to take this opportunity to publicly say 'thank you." My thanks also go to Roxy and Glen for their work in preparing grant funding applications and to Ruth, David and their team for a successful Scarfarama and Garage Sale and for  organising the bus trip to Wellington - two events that help us reach out while also strengthening our church family. As with all families, we are stronger when we each share the load.

Do read on to hear more about what our church family is up to this week, how you can become involved and celebrate the connections we have, one with another. I look forward to catching up with you all at our worship service this Sunday.

Kia whakapaingia koe e te Atua.
May you be blessed by God.
Sandra

Worship this Sunday, 10am

Join us at 10am for Holy Communion with Rev. Sandra Williams leading the service and Liz Barrow reflecting on "A New Creation." If you would like to read the scriptures in preparation, they are 2 Kings 5:1-14 and Galatians 6 :1-16.

Can the children please go straight to their programme rather than into church so they can join us during the service for Communion.

Women's Fellowship

Media Prayer Day

Sunday 3 July

Today, throughout the country, Christians of all denominations are praying for the people of New Zealand’s media; producers, directors, presenters, writers, editors, actors, journalists, marketers - and a vast array of others. Our prayers are for them all - for God’s wisdom, guidance and blessing - from the CEO to the intern; for people who are well-known, and for those behind the scenes. Please  take a few minutes today to pray for them all.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” (1 John 5:14 NIV).
