‘The Bridge’ - 25 Feb 2022

A message from Sandra

Kia ora e te whānau a te Karaiti, greetings to you all,

This coming week we enter an important season in the life of the church: Lent. For forty days (excluding Sundays) Christians worldwide are invited to reflect on our journey and our preparedness for the work Christ calls us to.

This week’s Bridge includes invitations to reflection - the Ash Wednesday service, World Day of Prayer, a Lenten Study and the Seasons for Growth Programme.

While re remain disturbed by the ongoing unrest at parliament and now the breakout of war in Eastern Europe, what better response than to turn to Christ? And may God’s Holy Spirit stir in you as you prepare for Lent and the journey through the cross to resurrection glory.

Arohanui,
Sandra
Minister.

Worship this Sunday, 10am

Please join Brett Reid and team as we reflect on “This is my Son, my Chosen; Listen to him!”

If you would like to read the scripture before the service please look at Luke 9:28-36

Ash Wednesday Service:
Wednesday 2nd March 6-7pm in the Gilmour Lounge

Join us as we begin our forty-day Lenten journey to Easter, with our Ash Wednesday service.

Ash Wednesday centers around repentance: our need for forgiveness, a forgiveness that only God can provide us. As part of the service, we are marked with a sign of the cross on our forehead, made out of ashes, as a symbol of our devotion to God. The sign is optional.

We would love for you to join us. And you are most welcome to invite friends and family to participate with you. If you require transport, do let us know! Contact Sandra or Brett for more information."

World Day of Prayer

"I Know the Plans I have for you"
A Service prepared by WDP England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

You are invited to join in worship and fellowship here at Levin Uniting Church.
