Let’s Do Lunch!

On Wednesday 11 May we packed out the Church Hall for our inaugural Let’s Do Lunch!

The mid-autumnal winds brought a diverse group of retirees together from Levin Anglicans, St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Age Concern’s Stay-As-You-Go falls prevention class, parishioners from Levin Uniting Church, and many, many more. On the menu for lunch was a delectable range of soups and savoury dunkers and pastries followed by chocolates, trifles, tea, and coffee. Following the scrumptious lunch, we sang a collection of good ‘ol songs: ‘It’s a long way to Tipperary,’ ‘She’ll be Coming Round the Mountain,’ and ‘Amazing Grace,’ to name but a few. The buzz in the Hall was undeniably electric. Not only were our tummies full, but our souls, too.

We are grateful to Mary, Trish, and the team for making the lunch happen. To the folk at Age Concern Horowhenua who helped with serving and cleaning up. And to everyone who attended for making it such a soul-warming occasion. Keep an eye out for information about the next Let’s Do Lunch. We can’t wait to do it again!
